FAQ
- What does LightSpot's AI visibility audit cover?
- The audit scores your site against 46 measurable criteria: 21 SEO criteria for the technical foundations (tags, structure, Core Web Vitals) and 25 GEO criteria for everything that decides whether a passage on your page can be cited by an AI — answer structure, structured data, AI crawler accessibility, brand signals. You get a score out of 100, a letter grade from A to F, a page-by-page breakdown, and the 3 highest-impact fixes. Every criterion is marked pass, fail or skip: if a check can't run, the report is still produced with whatever could be measured.
- How do fixes get applied to my site?
- Once your CMS is connected, our agents apply only fixes rated zero-risk: page titles, meta descriptions and structured data in JSON-LD — never editorial copy or code. The first pass is always a simulation, so you review the list of what would change before approving it. Any page edited by a human since the last audit is skipped, every fix stays logged and individually reversible, and a real re-audit measures the score gain behind each pass.
- Which CMS platforms and tools are supported?
- WordPress, Shopify, Wix and Webflow each have a native integration. WordPress connects through a bridge plugin installed in one minute plus an application password; Shopify goes through its native SEO metafields, Wix through its posts' seoData, and Webflow through its official API — each in one click. Google Search Console connects without OAuth — you invite a service account we give you as a reader — and its data then ranks your priority actions by the traffic your pages actually get. No connection asks for access to your source code: each one runs through the platform's official API. For technical teams, a public REST API and an official MCP server let you launch audits and read their results from Claude or your IDE.
- How do I know whether AI engines are citing my brand?
- Citation tracking probes five engines every week — ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude and Google AI Overviews — with prompts tailored to your business, then detects whether your brand, domain or a specific page gets cited. You get an email alert the moment a citation is gained or lost, naming the prompt and the engine, and the history builds up in your report's Impact section. It's a signal Google Analytics can't see, since an AI citation almost never produces a click. Every gap detected then becomes a target for our content and social agents, and the next probe checks whether the citation appears.
