Terms of Service
Mis à jour le 9 mai 2026
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of the LightSpot.ai website, dashboard, and public API (collectively, the "Service") operated by LightSpot. By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1.The Service
LightSpot is an AI-visibility audit tool. We crawl the URLs you submit, analyze them against 46 SEO and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) criteria, and produce a scored report. On paid plans, we may also detect competitors cited by AI search engines and open draft pull requests on a GitHub repository you have linked, with proposed code changes.
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We continuously improve the methodology and may add, modify, or remove features over time.
2.Eligibility and account
You must be at least 16 years old (or the minimum age permitted in your jurisdiction) and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials and API keys confidential, and for all activity under your account.
You may sign up using a magic-link email or a Google account. You must provide accurate information and notify us promptly of any unauthorized use of your account.
3.Subscription, billing, and refunds
The Service offers a Free plan and three paid plans (Growth, Business, Enterprise) with monthly or annual billing, processed by Stripe. Prices are listed on the pricing page and may change with at least 30 days' notice; existing subscriptions keep their existing price until renewal.
Paid subscriptions auto-renew until cancelled. You may cancel at any time from the billing portal; access continues through the end of the current paid period. Charges already incurred are non-refundable except where required by law. Trial periods, when offered, end automatically unless cancelled before they end.
4.Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- submit URLs you do not own or are not authorized to audit on behalf of the owner;
- use the Service to crawl sites in violation of their
robots.txtor applicable law; - resell raw API output or repackage the Service as your own without an Enterprise agreement;
- attempt to bypass quotas, rate limits, or authentication;
- use the Service to harm, harass, or compromise any third party;
- reverse-engineer the methodology beyond what is publicly documented.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that we reasonably believe violate these Terms or place undue load on the infrastructure.
5.Auto-fix pull requests
When you connect a GitHub repository, you authorize LightSpot to clone a shallow copy, generate file changes, and open draft pull requests. You remain solely responsible for reviewing, testing, and merging any PR. LightSpot makes no warranty that auto-generated changes are functionally correct, complete, or free of regressions; you must treat them as suggestions, not vetted code.
6.Public API
The public API is available on Business and Enterprise plans. API keys are personal to the user account that created them; sharing a key counts as use by that account. You agree to rotate keys you suspect have been compromised. We may rate-limit, throttle, or revoke keys we reasonably believe are abusive. Breaking changes to the v1 contract will be announced at least 90 days in advance.
7.Intellectual property
LightSpot owns the Service, its source code, brand, and methodology. You retain ownership of the URLs and content you submit and of any reports we generate for you. By using the Service, you grant LightSpot a non-exclusive license to process that content for the sole purpose of providing the Service.
Anonymized, aggregated metrics (for example: distribution of scores across all audits) may be used to improve the methodology and to publish public industry benchmarks. We will never publish information that identifies you or your audited sites without your consent.
8.Third-party services
The Service relies on third-party providers — including Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI, Perplexity, Google PageSpeed Insights, Stripe, GitHub, and Resend — to operate. Their availability and pricing are outside our control. A full list of sub-processors and their roles is in the Privacy Policy.
9.Disclaimers
LightSpot does not guarantee that following its recommendations will result in a specific level of citation by any AI search engine, in any given search ranking, or in any specific business outcome. The 25 GEO criteria are derived from independent academic research (ACM SIGKDD 2024) and our own measurements; AI engines change behavior frequently and unilaterally.
10.Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, LightSpot's total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid for the Service in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or (b) one hundred euros (€100). LightSpot is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost revenue, or lost data.
11.Termination
You may close your account at any time by emailingsupport@lightspot.ai or via the dashboard. We may suspend or terminate the Service to your account if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your data is retained for the period described in the Privacy Policy and then deleted.
12.Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced by email and on the dashboard at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
13.Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of France. Any dispute arising from these Terms or from use of the Service will be submitted to the competent courts of Paris, France, except where mandatory consumer protection law of your country of residence applies.
